Pockets

So I can remember this one adorable thing someday when I am old and grey, I am gonna tell one of
"those" kid stories that aren't always appreciated by anyone other than the mother (or father).  Landon is the shadow behind Gavin in pretty much every shape or form.  Which is by the way, one of the most rewarding things to get to witness on a daily basis.  Gavin puts his hands in his pockets occasionally, and lately Landon has been watching Gav do this and has to mimic him.  It comes in spurts, but it usually lasts most of the morning or so when it does.  There are even times when we are getting ready to get in the car and he still has his hands in his pockets and will not take them out to take the step down in the garage or to get into the car.  I have to pry them out!  Which is then followed by anger on his end and he tries so hard to get his hands back in his pockets while he is in his car seat.  Its pretty humorous, even when he is crying cause he is so frustrated.  Yes, I am one of those moms that would rather laugh at my child than stop the car and help him figure out that its not going to work while he is sitting down. :)
the end.

Mackenzie turns 9

My little missy is growing up so fast!  Her age that is....she is still my small skinny girl she was when she was 6 or 7, I swear! :)
We played it small and semi quiet this year for her birthday.  It really helps that her best friends are family so I don't have to make it a "friend" party, I can call it a "family" party, so it becomes more low key.  She chose Wahooz, which by the way they get in free on their bday (just have to bring gift cert) pretty awesome I might add.  It was a beautiful sunny day, my sister and I got to plop ourselves down and let the girls have at it! Three hours of non stop talking is my idea of a great birthday party!!
We came home and had some Olive Garden (her favorite) and a pretty sad little cake and ice cream.  All in all it was a pleasant day filled with all the things she loves!  Happy Birthday my beautiful girl!

Beautiful Easter Sunday

We were able to go to the temple and listen to the Institute Choir program.  What a beautiful evening!  It was a bit chilly, but the scenery and atmosphere was wonderful!

Easter FuN

This year Justin and I sort of told the kiddos that there was no Easter Bunny.  When we told them, it wasn't as if there hearts were crushed, they really didn't seem too affected by the news.  Mackenzie simply asked "can we still pretend that he is real?"  I said of course!  Some of you might think we are horrible parents for simply "spilling the beans" so early, but it was really refreshing.  I really really don't like the whole Easter bunny fantasy.  It has NOTHING to do with Easter.  Now as a parent I understand why we celebrated all the "non church" festivities on Saturday.  I personally hated that as a kid, but now I love separating the two days.  We still get to have the baskets and search for eggs, go to egg hunts and whatnot, but then on Sunday we get to celebrate the real meaning, and feel the spirit so much stronger.  I love it, and the kids honestly weren't even phased at the two different days :)

Bounce

As a family Gavin wanted to go to Bounce for this acutally birthday.  It was horrible lighting and my pictures are really not that fantastic but at least I got some proof that we had some fun! :)

Gavin's birthday festivites

For Gav's bday he chose to have a little friend party and go BOWLING!  That was an adventure I might add.  I was so busy making sure the boys were bowling in the right lane, that I didn't get any picks of them at the ally, but here is what I did get from that day.....

Playing catchup

Geesh, I am certainly behind on this blog of mine aren't I?  Well I will be posting lots of catch up posts from the past month or so :)  Hopefully I can get them in order but if not......its better than nuthin!
