8 Wonderful Years Today

Today is our 8th anniversary! Its strange to think how fast time flies, and how different our lives are now. I can still remember the first time I saw Justin. We were at a CSI basketball game and he was sitting a few rows behind me. I had turned around for a brief minute and there he was! I was smitten with that first look, and ever since then my heart has never beat stronger for anyone else! He is the love of my life and I can't imagine my life without him. He has given me 3 beautiful children, millions of laughs, billions of kisses, and a never ending bond that we cherish everyday. I thank my lucky stars to be able to share my life with the man of my dreams!

just being cute...

Christmas Day

The kids were so much fun this year! I love watching their adorable faces as they see what Santa brought them! Gavin would have been satisfied with his gun and nothing more. Mackenzie was a little more greedy than Gav in that department, but then again she is 6 years old right? We spent the entire day being lazy and watching Christmas movies while the kids just played with their toys!

Christmas Eve

Our little nativity.......I didn't get a very good picture of this, but when I do get someone else's copy, I will post a better one, cause they all looked so adorable! They even sat through the whole story so quiet and wonderful!

Mackenzie trying to play Tamra's guitar
Rock Band........gotta love it!

2 Weeks Old!

Landon is 2 weeks old today! It has kind of been somewhat of a blur up till now, but man is he so much fun! I LOVE it when he is awake, his eyes just seem to scan the room as if he can see everything (even if I don't think they can see much of anything yet) He has added such a glow to our household! He is such a good little guy, only cries minimally when he is hungry and when we change his diaper. As long as we can keep him awake during the day for a few hours, he does really great at going right back to sleep at night after feedings, which I am ever so grateful for. I feel so blessed to have 3 beautiful children, how ever did we get so lucky? He looked so adorable in this beanbag, the picture doesn't do it justice. He sat there for a good half hour just sitting there hanging out!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARIN!

I wanted to share how wonderful my big brother Darin is on his big birthday today! Now that we are getting "older" I can appreciate my siblings so much more! Darin and I were always "stuck" together, aka had to share the same bedroom for numerous years, to sharing the same car during high school. He wasn't always my biggest fan, but through the years I have grown to totally respect and look up to him! As I have been able to watch him change from year to year, I see what a wonderful father and husband he is to his sweet little family. Even if I don't show it all that well, I truly love him and admire the man he is today! Happy 29th (almost the big 3-0) Birthday Darry Poo-Poo Head! :)

Our lives have changed

So this is more for my records, but feel free to read...it may be long, consider yourself warned. So its now been a whole 12 days since Landon was born. Looking back on that day.... I hadn't slept at all the night before, and we had to be at the hospital at 6:00am. I felt like I knew what to expect because I had been through it before. Justin and I were both nervous and anxious at the same time. As they prepped me, IVs, machine hook ups, etc. I just kept thinking "I can't believe its time for this". When they rolled me in the surgery room, and started the process my heart was racing and I became very very frightened. Life was about to change forever and I wasn't quite sure if I was ready for that. When I heard him cry for the first time my heart was warmed and all I could do is listen to him and wait to get to see his sweet little body. The doctors and nurses all raved at how big he was, and in my mind I was thinking "oh no, I have a gigantic baby......" When they said 9 pounds 4 ounces, I was in shock! No one in my family had ever had such a big baby. When Justin brought him to my face, all I could do is kiss his soft cheeks and smile at how beautiful and perfect he looked. In the recovery room it was just Justin, Landon and I. I was in there for about 2 and half hours, and it was the most perfect time to just bond and look at this little baby who just entered our family. It was so peaceful and relaxing, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for blessing us with such a beautiful baby. He may be big, but he is so perfect and healthy and that is all I could have asked for. Life has changed so much, and with that comes doubt and hesitation. It has taken my body so much longer to recover than before, which makes it that much harder for me to be a good mom. I just have to continue to allow my family to help me, and let Justin do everything that I can't! Its so hard to sit and watch, but the more I do, the more I hurt. I am blessed with wonderful family who loves me and loves my kids. And most importantly, blessed with a sweet new addition to our family!

More of Landon

Just a few more pictures of him......kind of can't stop snapping photos of his adorableness! We thought he looked a lot like Gavin in the hospital, but he now looks hardly anything like him. He looks so much like Justin as a baby, he got the wonderful Thacker skin and dark hair that's for sure!

Landon Steven Thacker

Our little man is here! He weighs 9 pounds 4 ounces, and was 21 3/4 inches!!! Yes, we have a chunker on our hands. I knew he felt big, but wasn't quite prepared for that big. He still looks tiny to me, and I swear all his weight is in his head and cheeks!
Stealin a sweet moment after delivery
Daddy in his cute surgery getup
Everything went just fine on Thursday. I didn't get any sleep the night before, so I was happy that we had such an early delivery. It was nice and peaceful at the hospital for the morning and mid afternoon, we really were able to bond so much with just the 3 of us. I don't remember a more relaxed and sweet time with my other 2. It all went so fast, it was just amazing that the time had come for him to come.
We are doing great and just trying to get rest and heal as fast as possible. I'm feeling pretty good, but I forget how sore my entire body feels after the c-section. I'm just happy to have our healthy boy here, and have his sweet spirit in our home. More to come later.......

The time has come

So I finally got around to having Justin take pictures of my belly. I hate having pictures of myself up, but I figured it was time to at least have a few to prove how large I have become. Tomorrow morning we will have our little boy here! I still haven't grasped the concept that the time has finally come to have him here. I am tired of preparing and worrying, and just ready to have him here and deal with whatever comes with it. The kids are excited (well kenzie is, gavin doesn't really understand so much yet) Mackenzie said she is just ready to go to bed cause she is so happy that tomorrow is the day! Plus, she get to have both grandma's watch her and Gavin for the next few days. I will post pictures as soon as I feel up to it. Think happy thoughts tomorrow morning, we go in at 7:30am!

All I want for Christmas...

is my two front teeth!!!!! Mackenzie lost her other front tooth last night. She is now talking a bit funny and has a little bit harder time eating her food! Our goal was to have it out before the baby came, and we did it!!!

Mackenzie

Our Mackenzie has become this little lady lately. She can be very sassy and very sweet in the same moment. Her mood swings are frightening, and I am afraid for the teenage years already! She has such a big heart and has become such an amazing big sister to Gavin. She has always been helpful, but she seems to have taken on the role of mothering him when I am not in the room.
She is very much the artist! She is very good at looking at something and then drawing it. She is reading so much better these days, and loves to be the reader at night instead of having me read to her.
I just felt like I needed to take a moment and remember my sweet Mackenzie at this stage in her life. I am afraid that the growing won't ever stop, and my "little" girl will be a teen in no time at all! What a scary thought!

Fishing trip with dad

Justin took Gavin out yesterday on a little boy's fishing trip on the Boise river. Gavin was so proud of his little fish he caught on his pole! He is growing up so fast, and becoming this little man. It has been so fun to see him transition into a more independent kid. He loves being old enough to get to do things himself, and being able to hang out with daddy by himself always makes for a great day! It still amazes me that he is old enough to go out fishin with Justin already.
